The one thing I worried about the most for this trip was the packing. I spent so much time in the last few weeks thinking about everything we planned to do and what kind of gear I’d need for it all. Our trip isn’t just a chance to tour and travel but also a full-on running trip, in the heat, on trails and road races as well as several nights living amongst an Ethiopian village.

Making sure I have the right stuff for so many circumstances has been quite the exercise! In the end, this trip isn’t about me anyways, it’s about the people of Kudu. So if I’m missing some clothes I would have liked to have, it doesn’t really matter.

One of the biggest things I think I’ll learn on this trip is just how much stuff like that doesn’t matter. We are so fortunate to live the lives we do and have the things we have. The perspective is going to be quite impactful. I also have a huge stash of skipping ropes I cam taking for the village children and some other gifts like balls, crafts and games

Anyhow, so what did I end up packing anyways? Not that everyone goes to Ethiopia but I found it really helpful to read blog posts from others who have travelled there so hopefully sharing mine will help someone else.
