This post is a bit of a public service announcement for those of you out there who had fun running any of the Rock ’n’ Roll races this past year.
I’ve always loved RnR events and had great fun in Seattle and my hometown of Vancouver which got it’s very own RnR half marathon this year! I was also planning to do Las Vegas but sadly had to cancel on that one for medical reasons and admittedly, found myself super envious seeing just how much fun everyone had on the strip this year.
Anyhow, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about 2015 and which races I want to run (in particular, which Rock ’n’ Roll races) when up popped a fantastic opportunity. The kind folks at Rock ’n’ Roll are offering some serious discounts on some of their biggest events this Thursday, November 20th only! You can visit the link via the graphic below or click here to see all the savings!
They have also created a really neat app called #myrnrtour that allows you to plan out your Rock ’n’ Roll races for 2015 and then produce a tour map that you can share with everyone on social media. As part of the Rock Blog team again for next year I know I’ll be running at least 3 races but I kind of have my eye on one more.
If you’re interested in 3 or more races you might want to consider purchasing one of the Rock ’n’ Roll Tour Passes which gets you multiple RnR races for one price and only one transaction fee (more info about the tour pass can be found here). So here’s what I’d like to do for next year…
I’ve run Seattle three times before, Las Vegas once and Vancouver once but I’d really love to finally add in Portland to earn some of the limited edition west coast medals. Check out the medal count for just these 4 races…
In addition to the 4 event medals I would earn, there would be the Rock Encore, Triple Crown and Grand Slam for completing 2, 3 and then 4 RnR events in one calendar year (that’s a total of 7 medals so far).
Then there would be the Pacific Peaks medal for completing Seattle and Portland and then the Cascadia medal for completing Seattle, Portland AND Vancouver (Now we’re up to 9 medals…)
And then if I’m ambitious, I could also do the Las Vegas 5k before the half marathon and earn the 5k medal plus the Remix Challenge medal! This would make a grand total of 11 medals for 5 races – a pretty good haul!
Now that would be some serious bling. Now, I still need to run this whole plan past my family but fingers crossed, I’ll find myself all registered soon!
Are you planning to take advantage of any of the discounts this Thursday? Will I see you at any of these events?
